Lam Yuk Lin [art]attack 13

Born in Hong Kong in the 70s, Lam received her Bachelor Degree and post graduate diploma from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

She also received her Master of Fine Arts Degree from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University. Lam is now teaching sculpture, installation art and experimental art at the Hong Kong Institute of Education.

Lam has held several solo installation and sculpture exhibitions. Lam, whose conceptual and site-specific installation works are often seen in many venues. In 2001, she started her Cultivating Civilization research art project and developed several series of artworks including: Civilized Fossils, Observation of Civilization, Resurgent of Civilization and Civilized Trading to express her view on contemporary civilization.

She was granted an Arts Development Council project grants to publish Lam Yuk Lin Cultivating Civilization Research Report in 2005.

She was the committee member of Hong Kong Society for Education in Art (1998-2000) and Hong Kong Visual Arts Society (2002-2006). She was the curator of Districts Teacher Network Scheme, Hong Kong Art Teacher Festival 2001: Teacher-Student Interactive Arts Project.

Sarah Duyshart – Sieves – ‘the lure of echo’

This video is a sample of artist Sarah Duyshart’s work that will feature in her upcoming exhibition ‘the lure of echo’. It is a large underground sound sculptural installation featuring as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival 2009 program. Exhibition opens on Friday 25 September from 6pm-9pm and runs from 26 September to 11 October. Opening hours: Mon-Fri 10am-6pm and Sat/Sun 11am-5pm. Basement of 673 Bourke St Melbourne (50 metres from Spencer street, Cnr. Godfrey St)
